Welcome to The Center for Medical Weight Loss of Santa Fe!

We are a part of the national Center for Medical Weight Loss, the largest network of weight loss physicians in the country. We believe that a weight loss program with medical supervision is the safest, most comprehensive and most successful means for a patient to address their weight concerns. Led by Dr. Lynore Martinez, our Santa Fe medical staff has received training in medically-supervised weight loss under Dr. Michael Kaplan, one of the nation’s leading bariatric and weight-loss physicians, in order to bring this highly successful program to the communities of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico.

Lynore Martinez, MD

Dr. Lynore Martinez was born and raised in New Mexico, growing up in Espanola and attending the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas, in 1996, where she was extensively trained in advanced surgical procedures such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. She was in private practice at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas, for five years prior to making the decision to return back to New Mexico. She has practiced in Santa Fe since 2000, and opened her own practice, Santa Fe Ob/Gyn, in 2005. She became interested in bariatric medicine (the field for treatment of obesity and weight loss) after she and her staff experienced frustration in how to help many of their patients who complained of weight issues and medical problems associated with being overweight such as diabetes, cardiac disease, abnormal bleeding, infertility, and some cancers. Through her research, she determined that The Center for Medical Weight Loss provided a sound medically-based program for weight loss, and is pleased to bring this program to the community here in Santa Fe.
